It is also important to understand that his parents were highly esteemed members of the same community where he lived and worked, and was respected and loved. 💖
As life often does, it threw a curveball in the form of a new boss—one who harbored prejudice against gay people.The atmosphere quickly turned hostile, and within a year my friend's world completely unraveled. The discrimination he endured left him a mere shadow of his former self, and he was placed on indefinite leave, never to regain his cherished job. Having gone through some similar experiences, I can say without a doubt, you never are the same again when leveled with such hatred over nothing more than just existing. 😡
Pause for a moment and let that sink in. A happy, thriving, beloved member of a community who did nothing wrong or different than he had his entire life, lost his livelyhood and peace of mind, because of a bad boss. A person in a place of power and authority who just came in and destroyed another person's well-being and happiness for no other reason than they didn't like them.
There is so much more that I would like to say, but I am keeping it short for the sake of this post.
