Definition of Bullying
Bullying is an intentional and repetitive form of aggressive behavior in which one person causes injury or discomfort to another. Three key elements define bullying: intentionality, repetition, and most importantly a power imbalance. It can manifest physically, verbally, socially, emotionally, financially, or through cyberbullying. The impact of bullying is profound, leading to feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, and can even can physical and mental health problems. ππ₯
Who Bullying Affects
Bullying can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, where one lives, education, or any other factor. It tends to be most common in schools but can occur in various settings, including workplaces, homes, and online. Subtle and manipulative bullying can be particularly challenging to identify, targeting victims with indirect methods like gaslighting, triangulation, social isolation, and manipulation. Domestic violence is a form of bullying. π₯π π»
