I love to help people express themselves! And there is no more fun or more modern way to express yourself than with emoji!
Emoji are a universal language that help people communicate across all ages, languages and tech barriers. In fact, they are playing a major role in helping people communicate across all aspects of life - from home life, to work life to love life.
Recently Adobe, a creativity software company, published a blog with the results of their "The Future of Creativity: 2022 U.S. Emoji Trend Report" which highlighted the latest emoji trends in the US amongst GenZ, Millennials, Gen X and Boomers.
I was so deeply inspired reading the report, it started this blog! Not only for what emoji mean to people now as a digital language to help communicate the gaps in conveying mixing contexts in text, but also what they are inspiring people to create to bridge the gaps between the digital work and the real world. It is all around us in commercials, presentations, emotions, medical pain scales, and in my recent research I have seen that there have been pioneering minds that have seen what I see... the potential for what I am coining emojiIRL. But for this post, I just want to point out this 100+ page report that is pretty presented in a giant infographic style - very creative and an interesting read.
Below are some of the stats from the executive summary. This should encourage you to check out the whole thing and take a peek yourself! Good stuff!
