Hey Moji Maniacs!  

Heads up language geeks and lovers! Today's Emoji-A-Day post is all about languages because it is International Language Day and Language Movement Day, and we get to time travel and remix beats. Seems like it's about honoring the past AND looking boldly ahead...but how does that actually WORK? Turns out, languages are meant to bend a bit, just like the branches of a strong, healthy tree. 🌳

Let's dig into why 'pickling' words may feel safe, but ultimately hurts us all. 🥒

Protect, But with Pizzazz! ✨
Those old sayings Grandma uses, and nearly forgotten songs hold both history and heart. But here's the thing, preservation isn't about locking them in a museum! It's about:

• Storykeepers and Stories - Elders aren't relics, but dynamic preservers of language passed through talking, not edited, perfected textbooks.🗣️
• Tech as Translator - The tools aiding the visually impaired to 'read' or aiding hearing impaired to experience 'hearing' help. Same concept applies to languages thought lost - now voices rise again by bringing the past to life experientially. 🔁

Joyful Jargon - Slang, Nicknames, and Inside Jokes FTW! 💯
It is important to honor language roots, history, and etomyology. And with slang, nicknames, and current social usage—this is language in its most ALIVE form! 💥

Younger people especially drive this evolution, proving words are meant to be PLAYED with. Think how boring life would be if we only followed old-timey textbooks...no shade, but no fun either! Jargon shows a language is adaptable, meeting the needs of its speakers in the here and now. 🔥

The Perils of "Perfect" 🙅‍♀️
Judging based on dialect hurts, but so does getting hung up on if the latest language or even if slang is 'correct'. Change IS correct, because it keeps language working! Want to divide people with a shared language? Be the pronunciation police, the grammar cops, the one hung up on how things "should" sound.  Why this backfires:

• Change is Constant - Did YOU spell the same as your ancestors? Of course not! Fighting that flow is like battling the tide. 🌊
• Fluidity = Fun - Half the joy of language IS the 'inside jokes' between subcultures, evolving meanings that keep things fresh. 😂
• Gatekeepers Gotta Go - Judging based on dialect hurts, when it could be a chance to find common ground through the core language. 🚧

This is where the future gets bright! Embracing a language's right to grow means...

• Room for Everyone - Outdated terminology that excludes fades away, making space for more voices to be fully part of the conversation. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑
• Translation as Teamwork - Even AI tools offering rough translations help share vital info, fostering connection across continents. (They can work much faster and share results with us!) 🗺️
• New Needs, New Words - Science terms fresh outta the lab! Newly added social terminology and modern phrases. Gender pronouns evolving for inclusivity! This responsiveness keeps language a powerful tool, not a dusty rulebook. 📔
